Handwoven bowl – Rainbow Nest

$40.00 inc GST

A gentle reminder to not discount the messy, small, imperfect things – they can create beauty too.

Description

“Rainbow Nest”

Premium hand-dyed Madagascan raffia hand-woven into a bowl for all your treasures.

This bowl utilises the ‘scraps’ from other weaving projects and is deliberately messy (or, as I prefer to think of it, free.)

Approx 4cm high, 19cm diametre.

You will receive the bowl pictured. Please note this is a hand-made item; imperfections are natural and part of the charm!

Maker’s note: I am not an Indigenous person and this is not a piece of Aboriginal art. I have deep respect for our First Nations people and their cultural traditions – always was, always will be. While examples of the coiled basketry technique can be found on nearly every continent, I do not wish for my work to in any way step on the toes of Indigenous creators. My work is inspired by my personal connection with Nature and my love of thrifting and upcycling. I am happy to connect you with Indigenous makers if you are pursuing Indigenous art.
